Krzysztof Zieliński – biographic info

Krzysztof Zieliński was born 1974 in Wąbrzeźno (Poland). In 2001 graduated the Department of Still Photography at the Film and TV School of the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague. BA (1999) & MA (2001) diplomas with distinction in Fine Arts Photography.

Since 2000 Krzysztof Zieliński has been active as an artist within documentary photography frame. He examines universal questions of ones identity, origins and belonging in globalized and ever more digitized reality. Artist often returns to the places (or persons) from his own past using it as catalyst for more general existential explorations. 

Zieliński’s photographic works have have enjoyed substantial national and international recognition. The highlights include a solo shows in Zachęta National Gallery in Warsaw in (2004) and Center of Contemporary Art in Toruń (2009) as well as participation in most significant art shows around the world, with Sao Paolo Bienal, Prague Biennale among others (please get in touch for full list of exhibitions and collections).   

Krzysztof Zieliński lives and works in Berlin.
